Gunter Dueck is an author, management expert and leading technology specialist. From 1987-2011 he worked at IBM Germany, where he served as Distinguished Engineer, and then most recently held the position of Chief Technology Officer.
He founded the Business Intelligence Services for IBM Central Europe, and worked on strategic direction and cultural change for many years. In 2009 and 2010, he led the “Dynamic Infrastructure” and “Cloud Computing” business of IBM Germany.
Since his retirement, Dueck has worked as a freelance writer, consultant and public speaker. He is an IEEE Fellow, a member of the IBM Academy of Technology, and a corresponding member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences.
He also writes a column in The Computer Science Spectrum magazine. He has published several award-winning, satirical and philosophical books about life, people and managers. One of his most famous books “Lean Brain Management’ (2006), was chosen by both the Financial Times and getAbstract as Business Book of the Year 2006.
