Christian De Boissieu is a leading French economist, and Professor of Monetary and Financial Economics at the Sorbonne, University of Paris, where he is Director of the Masters Degree in Banking and Finance.

De Boissieu was economic adviser to the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry until 2011, and from 2003-12, he was Chairman of the French Council of Economic Analysis “Conseil d’Analyse Economique”, which advises the Prime Minister on economic and social issues.

He is a former consultant to the World Bank and to the European Commission, and was in charge of the TACIS program mission in Russia on domestic arrears, monetary policy and banking regulation. In 2007, he was appointed a member of the Attali Commission, in charge of proposing economic reforms and boosting economic growth in France.

He is a member of the “Conseil National du Crédit”, “Comité des Etablissements de Crédit et des Entreprises d’Investissement”, “Autorité des Marchés Financiers” and the “Comité de la Réglementation Bancaire et Financière”. De Boissieu was a former member of the advisory board of J.P. Morgan (France), and is currently a Member of the Advisory Board of Ernst & Young (France). He is also fellow of the Academy of Technology, and of the Royal Academy of Belgium.
