Yves Thréard is a renowned French journalist, and deputy editor at the daily newspaper Le Figaro.
He started his career as a journalist at Dauphiné Libéré. By 1985 he had moved to Kenya and started writing for the Voice of Kenya and the Voice of America in Nairobi. He covered the news for Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, Mauritius, and Madagascar.
Back in France, Thréard became a reporter for France-Soir from 1988-93. He then moved to Le Figaro, where he was head of department between 1994-97, before returning to France-Soir as editor and deputy managing director from 1997-99.
Since 2000 Thréard has been a columnist and deputy editor at Le Figaro. He blogs regularly on the newspaper\’s website and also presents a daily show Orange – Le Figaro, broadcast on Orange TV and lefigaro.fr website.
Thréard also appears regularly on other programmes and channels, including ITV, RTL polemicist, Club Ruth Elkrief BFM TV, Match ITélé, LCP policy, LCI, France Inter and BFM Radio.
